Volunteers with basic skills will work with patients who need basic first aid, care and attention. Those with qualifications in the medical industry (a copy of certificate should be shown during orientation, or sent by email before you arrive in Ghana) will be placed in institutions where you will be greatly needed.

Your expertise and knowledge will be greatly accepted by the locals that you will work alongside.

Many medical practices may be different from what you are used to at home, and you should always be ready to embrace the traditional medicines which are still very prominent within Ghana.

Some placements may involve traveling between locations, so that your expertise reaches the maximum number of people possible.

We are working with one clinic currently in the Eastern region of Ghana, however we are also working with other institutions such as orphanages where there is great need for medical treatment.

The clinics are often understaffed and with bad medical supplies, so it is crucial that we place volunteers there. While the orphanages often receive no medical care at all.

The knowledge of foreign volunteers, not only in the medical profession, but also with the organisational skills has greatly benefited the institutions where we have had medical volunteers.
