Mission Statement
Volunteer Corps motto is "serving mankind, bridging cultures", this is a motto that we ensure to uphold. Our beliefs are that all humans have the right to good education, food, health, medical care, clothing etc.
Volunteer Corps is unique in the sense that its program fee is very affordable in comparison to the majority of other organisations and NGOs that offer volunteering placements. Not only this but we offer very good standards and make it our priority to uphold them, volunteers in Ghana are our utmost priority so we do our best to ensure you have an enjoyable and safe experience. Each project where we work in Ghana is carefully inspected by Volunteer Corps staff and chosen with great care.
In developing countries you will be immensely uncomfortable with the level of poverty. At times you may question the value of the work you are doing or the role multilateral organizations play in the future of developing countries. On the upside, lots of people find volunteering satisfying because it enables them to put their skills to more meaningful use than they might be able to at home. There is also the excitement of exploring a new culture, the prospect of personal growth and the chance to make new friends.
You are welcome to Volunteer Corps Organization, where we offer meaningful volunteer placement in Ghana.
Who are we?
Volunteer Corps is a nongovernmental, non profit making organisation based in Accra, Ghana. It was formed in 2006, with the goal of helping the people of Ghana. In addition we try our best to offer great volunteering experiences at an affordable price.
Within Ghana we offer a 24/7 support, accommodation, food, airport pickup, orientation and traveling to projects.
The environments in which we place volunteers are also extremely safe with a relaxed atmosphere.
Edward Adeli, the founder of Volunteer Corps, started the NGO after returning from a 2 year visit to China. His initial thoughts were to create a NGO, and when asked by friends about the type of work he would like to follow, he followed his heart, to those that needed help and children.
Edward studied statistics and population studies in college and graduated in 2004. After living in China for 2 years, on his return to Ghana in 2007, with the support of his friends and family, saw the start of Volunteer Corps, an organisation aimed at helping and developing those in need.
Volunteers are a key step in this process, offering the in-country support that is so greatly needed to reduce the pressure on volunteers from within Ghana. The placement of foreign volunteers is carefully thought out and people are placed where they are truly needed.
Why volunteer with Volunteer Corps?
NGOs based within the country can offer the best on-hand information about what's going on, on the ground, and can thus place volunteers where they are most needed.
